Stand Against Racism - Poetic Justice
Columbus Museum of Art

stand against racism
As part of YWCA USA’s national Stand Against Racism campaign, YWCA Columbus is working with local artists to highlight organizations in our community whose fight for justice aligns with our mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and standing for dignity for all. Leaders of C.R.I.S, US Together, and the People’s Justice Project will share about the work they are doing in our community, and how they take a stand against racism every day. Three local spoken word artists will also share a powerful piece on racial justice and social isolation.

This event will take place at Columbus Museum of Art, in celebration of the opening of the Center for Arts and Social Engagement—an experimental gallery that fosters nuanced consideration of complex social issues through engagement with art, artists, and one another. The opening theme for CASE is isolation and alienation. With this partnership, and this year’s Stand Against Racism campaign, we are hoping to shine a light on these dark spaces and widen the circle of belonging in our communities.
