YWCA Announces New CEO/President

and creating and supporting the Columbus Collaborative, Seeds for Growth, which provides professional development for community non-profit organizations. 

Elfi has held leadership positions with numerous service organizations including the Vice Chair of the Community Shelter Board, a Steering Committee member of the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, a Trustee for the Board of Leadership Columbus and as a Commissioner for the Columbus Community Relations Commission.

According to YWCA Board Chair, Christie Angel, “The search committee believes they have found an exemplary leader who will carry on the outstanding work of the Y.”

 

The YWCA Columbus is proud to announce their new CEO/President, Elfi Di Bella.  She will begin the position January 19th, 2010, replacing Cynthia Lazarus who has been CEO/President for the past five years.  Elfi said that she “is thrilled to have this opportunity and is looking forward to building on the excellent work of Cindy Lazarus.”

Elfi comes to the YWCA from Huntington Bancshares Incorporated, where she was a Senior Vice President and Director of Community Affairs and President of the Huntington Foundation.  In this position she provided crucial guidance for creating new opportunities for Huntington to make a difference in our community, and she has created an active employee network.

Elfi’s insightful guidance has led Huntington to many successful projects – heading up the campaign to build the YWCA Family Center,
