Why YWCA Columbus

At the YWCA Family Center, our approach to supporting families and managing COVID-19 is the same: take practical measures to care for each other during a crisis, so we can all reach better days ahead.

While volunteer programs are on hold during COVID-19, our Family Center team and staff from all over our organization have stepped up to ensure every mom, dad, and child gets the day-to-day support and services they need. For youngsters, we’ve supplied fun activity kits, and made sure school-aged kids have tablets and wifi to keep up with classes. For parents, we’re continuing to provide housing and employment support services even when transportation and some reference resources are scarce.

To help the families in our Family Center and the courageous staff running it, we invite you to join The Big Give, a 25-hour giving rally that boosts your donation. For every dollar you give to YWCA Columbus, The Columbus Foundation adds a bonus amount, multiplying your impact.

The Big Give – Details

June 10 at 10 am to June 11 at 11am

The Columbus Foundation, its family of donors, and corporate and community partners have provided $1 million+ in Bonus Pool funds to help everyone’s dollars go further.

All donations during the 25-hour period will receive a pro rata portion of the Bonus Pool. (For example, if there is a Bonus Pool of $1,000,000 and a total amount raised of $4,000,000, then 25 cents will be added to every dollar donated.)

In addition, The Columbus Foundation will cover all credit card fees, so 100% of donations go to participating nonprofits.

Columbus Foundation donors can make a donation using their Donor Advised Fund or Supporting Foundation starting at a minimum of $100.

Anyone can participate using a major credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express), or via PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, starting with a minimum gift of $20. Everyone who makes a donation will receive an email receipt.

All donations are final; no donation can be rescinded.
