The Columbus Dispatch | Article | The Columbus City Council plans to consider a measure that would prohibit landlords from denying housing to potential tenants because of their source of income, such as federal housing vouchers. The Bexley City Council approved similar legislation in September. “I think as we start to address the affordable housing crisis, we have to talk about the system that created these disparities among communities of color, seniors, low-income wage earners,” said Columbus City Council member Shayla Favor, who chairs the housing committee and is hosting the hearing.
