As much as 2020 was a year of upheaval, 2021 has brought similar ups and downs to our health, families, livelihoods, communities, and country. We’ve made major steps forward in some areas, and confronted how much further we need to go in others.
At YWCA Columbus, we believe in the power of change. We believe that we each have the capacity — and the responsibility — to build the kind of world we want to live in: one that ensures peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. That’s why we’re asking you to get involved and contribute to our work.
Because it will take all of us to create something even bigger than change. Together we can create transformation.

Ways to Give Details
HOST A COAT DRIVE
Give the gift of warmth this season by donating coats. Hosting a drive-by or outdoor donation drive is a great way to give back to the community in lieu of gifts. Other ideas include collecting socks, gloves and mittens for homeless children or donating to our gift card fund for homeless families. All material donations must be new and unused.
BUY A PRESENT
You can make the holidays brighter for others by purchasing a gift from a personal wish list. Children staying at the YWCA Family Center are writing letters to Santa, and we want to surprise them with a gift that matches their dreams. You can also make a formerly homeless woman’s holiday brighter by purchasing a gift from her wish list. Women, families, and children staying at YWCA Columbus housing programs may not be able to afford basic items or gifts. That’s why we need YOU.
PURCHASE AN ITEM FROM OUR WISHLIST
Running an emergency family center is tough. As you can imagine, there’s a need for basic new and unopened items on an ongoing basis. To help support families and residents, you may purchase items from our Amazon Wish Lists. These items will be sent directly to us. It’s that easy!
DONATE TO OUR GIFT CARD FUND
Give a chance for a homeless family or woman resident to have a holiday gift this season, in a contactless and COVID-safe way, by donating to our gift card fund. This fund will help us purchase gift cards so that the recipient can buy exactly what they need. Please consider a donation to this fund by December 17.
