HELP THOSE IN NEED LIVE IN DIGNITY
YWCA Columbus believes that every person deserves to live in dignity. Through our programs and services, we seek to ensure all of the people of our community are able to accomplish this. Year-round, we strive to provide respect and resources, care and understanding to the people we serve. During the holidays, when scarcity can feel amplified, living in dignity becomes increasingly difficult for the most vulnerable of our community. Your gifts enable us to increase the impact of our services, helping us to ensure more families have access to the resources they need. Thank you for standing up for dignity with us!

Ways to Give Details
HOST A DRIVE
During your holiday gathering, give the gift of warmth this season by collecting winter coats, of all sizes, to donate to homeless men, women and children. They can be new or gently used (freshly laundered) coats. Hosting a donation drive is a great way to give back to the community in lieu of gifts or as part of a white elephant party, for example! Other ideas include collecting diapers for homeless children or gift cards for homeless families. To help aid in your efforts, download a flyer to promote your coat drive.
Make a formerly homeless womans’ holiday brighter by purchasing a gift from her wish list. Our women residents are recovering from addiction, weathering disability or mental illness, or navigating job loss and low incomes. They may be unable to afford even basic items or have a family to spend the holidays with. Put a smile on their face by giving them a gift to unwrap this holiday season. Once you sign up, you’ll be matched with a resident and given their wish list. You’ll then bring the wrapped gift with their name and room number to: YWCA Columbus (65 S 4th Street) on Sunday, December 15th between the hours of 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
PURCHASE AN ITEM FROM OUR WISHLIST
Running an emergency family center is tough. As you can imagine, there’s a need for basic items on an ongoing basis. Visit our Family Center and Women’s Residency webpages for a full list of needed items. In the meantime, here’s a few items in demand this time of year:
- Coats (all sizes)
- Socks (all sizes)
- Gloves & Mittens (all sizes)
- Sheet sets (twin)
As always, you may purchase items from our Amazon Wish List. These items will be sent directly to us. Easy!

Cards from major retailers, such as Amazon, Kroger, Target and Walmart are accepted. Drop them off during regular business hours or mail them to the YWCA Family Center at 900 Harvey Ct.
