Gahanna Afterschool

YWCA Kids Place (YKP) has more than 30 years of experience providing affordable, dependable, high-quality, before and after school programs for families in Gahanna. Our programs are conveniently located right in your student’s elementary school in order to promote consistency and continuity for your student’s transition from school to Kids Place.

We know that things are uncertain right now. You can trust that the YWCA is committed to our partnership with the Gahanna School District and parents in the Gahanna community. We will continue to align with school district policy, follow health department recommendations, and adopt local, state and national best practices to ensure a safe, healthy environment to support student success.

All of our programs are Step Up to Quality star-rated, using a comprehensive curriculum that includes Choice-Based learning, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), social-emotional development, and physical fitness. Additionally, in lock-step with the mission of YWCA, social action and advocacy are promoted by participating in community service projects that benefit non-profit programs in the community.

About Our ‘Fall Session’

YWCA Columbus Kids Place ‘Fall Session’ is the period of time when Gahanna School District is opting for remote learning. It had been announced that schools will conduct remote learning from August 24 – October 15, 2020, but more recently school plans have changed. We will continue to follow the school district(s) plans.

Kids Place will support* your children by creating an environment conducive to learning during the school day, and by providing fun, enrichment activities before, after and in between!

To Fit Your Needs We Have Two Options:

Full Day Schedule

7:00 AM - 6:00 PM (M-F)

Mid Day Schedule Only

9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (M-F)

A special note about enrollment:

Parents who sign up for the YKP Fall Session will need to commit to all the session weeks. There is no option to select individual weeks. If you withdraw from the program, we require a two week notice. This is in alignment with best practices for keeping groups together and not introducing new students to groups to prevent potential COVID-19 transmission.

Scholarship Opportunity

Due to the generosity of Gahanna’s Mifflin Presbyterian Church and an anonymous donor, the YWCA has received a very generous donation for child care tuition scholarships available for the YKP Fall Session in Gahanna. This donation is intended to support families experiencing financial hardship and need assistance with child care tuition.

To see if you qualify, please complete THIS form and email to Valerie Henthorn at Scholarship funds are limited. Funds will be dispersed on a first come, first served basis.
