ON A MISSION TO SUPPORT FAMILIES AND CHILDREN IN THESE CHALLENGING TIMES

YWCA Kids Place (YKP) has more than 30 years of experience providing affordable, dependable, high-quality, before and after school programs for families in Gahanna. Our programs are conveniently located right in your student’s elementary school in order to promote consistency and continuity for your student’s transition from school to Kids Place.

We know that things are uncertain right now. You can trust that the YWCA is committed to our partnership with the Gahanna School District and parents in the Gahanna community. We will continue to align with school district policy, follow health department recommendations, and adopt local, state and national best practices to ensure a safe, healthy environment to support student success.

All of our programs are Step Up to Quality star-rated, using a comprehensive curriculum that includes Choice-Based learning, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), social-emotional development, and physical fitness. Additionally, in lock-step with the mission of YWCA, social action and advocacy are promoted by participating in community service projects that benefit non-profit programs in the community.

Additional schools:

Unfortunately at this time there will be no bussing provided for Emerson, Hanby, Huber Ridge, Longfellow or Pointview Elementary Schools, which means the YWCA will not be able to provide a program for students attending those schools. The district will consider adding in additional bussing (shuttles) later in the year, contingent upon the decreasing community spread of COVID19. We will keep you updated as we learn more details, or you can reach out to your school.
