YWCA Summer Kids Place is ready for a safe, fun summer!
We’re Prepared
In 2020, we pioneered implementing health and safety practices in a school age environment, as one of the only summer camps to open and operate safely in the midst of COVID19. This summer, we’re ready with a revised health and safety blueprint which incorporates ODJFS regulations, Franklin County Public Health guidance, and CDC best practices in order to mitigate the risk.
Here’s what you can expect from your experienced Kids Place staff as we work hard to keep your camper safe by with our comprehensive Health and Safety Protocols:
Daily Temperature Checks
Children and staff are required to have their temperature taken daily before attending camp. We also schedule two routine temperature checks later in the day to ensure everyone stays fever-free. If students or staff register a fever, they are asked to remain home for a certain number of days or until they have a doctors’ note.
Daily Health Screening
Children and staff must complete a daily health screening before attending camp. The screening takes less than a minute, and helps check for multiple symptoms. If students or staff are exhibiting COVID symptoms, they will be asked to stay home from camp.
Outside Activities
Because being outside reduces the spread of COVID19, we are planning more fun outdoors activities than ever before! We’re maximizing our time scheduled outside, with fun games, nature activities, water day, and more.
Hand Hygiene
Although handwashing has always been a hallmark of our ODJFS-licensed programs, we’ve taken our hand hygiene up a notch with additional scheduled handwashing times and sanitizing checkpoints. We make sure children clean their hands before, during, and after activities.
Pods
To keep children and staff as safe as possible, we’re avoiding mixing campers with other groups to mitigate potential spread. Children will stay in their individual cohorts, with consistent staff all day.
Masks
We’ve expanded our mask-wearing requirements to match expert-recommended best practices.
