Ohioans said YES to reproductive freedom! With the passage of Issue 1, reproductive rights and access to abortion are enshrined in the Ohio constitution.

YWCA Columbus congratulates and thanks Ohioans United for Reproductive Rights and the broad and diverse coalition of organizations and grassroots activists who came together to educate and galvanize voters across the state. We are also grateful to the dozens of YWCA Columbus volunteers who sent postcards and knocked on doors with us.

It’s clear – a majority of Ohioans agree that individuals should be able to make personal decisions about their bodies, health, and future with access to the healthcare they need. The right to bodily autonomy is foundational to reproductive justice and liberation and is inextricable from our mission to eliminate racism and empower women. YWCA Columbus commits to defend these rights and continue our pursuit of peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
