2022 Activists and Agitators Program
Undesign the Redline
During our 2022 Activists and Agitators event, we will officially launch Undesign the Redline, a national interactive exhibit by Designing the WE that explores the history of structural racism from the 1938 redlining maps. We will discuss how redlining continues to impact inequity in our community today and how we can unite to undesign these systems with intentionality.
Engaging Speakers
At this year’s event, we will host a solutions-oriented conversation with local experts and community organizers focused on repairing Columbus’ housing system. We are also excited to invite Jenny Schuetz, Senior Fellow of the Brookings Institute and author of Fixer Upper as our featured speaker. More speakers will be announced soon.
Local Artwork
For the first time ever, YWCA Columbus will exibit local Columbus artists and their work inspired by the effects of redlining, structural racism, social justice, housing inequities, and more.

About Activists and Agitators
Activists and Agitators is an annual YWCA Columbus event dedicated to uniting the Columbus community and inspiring attendees to pursue greater social change together than we can achieve alone.
This event fosters dialogue, provides practical resources, and educates the community to promote empowerment and inclusion. We created Activists and Agitators with the belief that anyone and everyone can be an agent for social change. If we all commit to intentional, anti-racist, direct action and harm reduction, our collective impact will be profound.
