Team Announcements + Updates

Save the Date

Shoutout to everyone at the Family Center: We recently passed fire and health department inspections!

THANK YOU to everyone who participated in and helped plan the strategic plan kick-off event on Oct. 17! It was so fun to see everyone having a good time together, especially at the photo booth!

Congratulations to Mariah Holmes, marketing and communications strategist, who GOT MARRIED on Halloween in the chapel at Griswold. We wish her and her spouse all the best!

Thank you to Maurice + Mont for helping jump my car at the Family Center this week! LOL. Also, a huge shout out to Miss Pat who always greets my daughters with such warmth every single morning. - Molly

YWCA Columbus in the News

YWCA Columbus’ president and CEO, Elizabeth Brown, was a guest on the Motherful Podcast, When Mothers Lead: Matriarchy Now, discussing her work at YWCA, the importance of policy implementation, and the impact of policies on real people. She also touches on the challenges of motherhood and the importance of community support.

YWCA Columbus hosted the 7th annual Activists and Agitators event, reminding us we can create change together.

Along with YWCA USA, we focused on financial abuse during a #WeekWithoutViolence.

Watch our series “Why I Vote” on TikTok, which features YWCA staff and residents of the YWCA Women’s Residency Program (Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3).

Our president and CEO, Elizabeth Brown also joined the Columbus Can’t Wait podcast to talk local elections, including the Ohio Supreme Court race, and break down how anti-trans and anti-immigrant political ads scapegoat vulnerable communities.

YWCA Columbus released a statement following the 2024 General Election, which you can read in full here. Importantly, we remain firm in our commitment to all those we serve – even as we head toward an uncertain future together.
